Over the last five years or so, we have seen a change from the more traditional basketball shoes to more performance based shoes. These sneaker designs are built on a foundation core of on-court performance with attention to weight, traction, bounce/strike and cushioning.
Recent designs have moved away from high-cut heavy wider sole ankle supporting shoes to lightweight, flexible high traction footwear. Some popular examples of performance basketball shoes selling in Australia are the Kobe X and A.D series, Jordan CP3, Jordan 31 and the Kyrie 3’s.
In our opinion the best performance shoes on the market right now, are the Kyrie 3’s. These sneakers are not only getting great reviews from consumers and wear testers, but is also one the top highest selling shoes in Australia in the performance basketball show range.
Obviously, this the 3rd edition of the Nike Irving signature shoe range to date. These kicks have been rolling of the shelves very quickly with Nike dropping regular colourways every other month lately with ballers snapping them up quickly. You generally don’t see these sneaker in the discount section.
Here are some of the colorways we have seen here in Australia for the Kyrie 3’s.
Other than the juggernaut that is the Jordan Brand, Kyrie Irving’s shoes have become the second highest selling signature kick in the world. According to a recent post by Solecollector.com these are the top five (5) selling signature sneakers in world today.
Even thou this is based on international sales, this list would appear to be similar for Australia (AU) sales, however based on our online store sale Kobe would be at 3. Adidas have seen a resurgence of late with the Harden shoes, Curry’s have tapered. It will be interesting to see where the PG shoes fall as they get some traction.
Anyhow, we are a fan of the Kyrie 1,2 and 3, we can’t to see what drops next from this slick kick.
